A Shout out to Market Square

I won't lie, I don't go to Sundown in the City as much as I used to. Part of it is that I just don't live with reckless abandon, like I used to. Part of it is the crowds. Man, the crowds. And, lastly, I hate it when my hands get dirty/wet/sticky and it always seems like my hands get dirty/wet/sticky at Sundown.

But, I do venture out for lots of Market Square activities, even the occasional sundown. I went last week because Cornbred Blues Band was playing at Sapphire afterwards, and that's enough to keep me out on a school night. It rained, and then it stopped, and then there was a rainbow:
The Buccos!! Adam plays bass in CBB.
Maybe my favorite picture ever! Definitely my favorite of Amanda!
And, one final shout out to Oodles, a restaurant on Market Square. They have the best macaroni in the world.
I love my town.

Free Falling...STF 2009

First, for all of you who say there's no reason to "jump out of a 'perfectly good airplane'", you should know that there is no such thing as a "perfectly good airplane".

Second, until you've tried it, you have no idea. Seriously. No idea. And, I am afraid of heights. This is just different. Believe me. Go jump! And, I recommend that you jump in Rockmart, GA at Skydive the Farm.

Yesterday my good friend, Scott, and I drove to GA for his very first jump. This was number 4 for me. He is addicted! I'm pretty sure he'll go on to get his AFF license and jump all on his own!

Here are a few pictures from the day:

Me and Scott
Right before the part that makes my heart beat faster
I got to flip out of the plane this time! I loved it!
And, this smile, well THIS smile is what it is all about. You won't get a good one like this until you've fallen 14,000 feet to the ground.

Shower the People you Love with...Baby Presents!

One of the best things about being a best friend is throwing a big party when something big happens! We had a baby shower for her on Saturday, April 4th. Well, we wanted nothing but the best for our dear Tara while we showered her with baby gifts! I had so much fun throwing a party for a baby girl I haven't even met yet! Of course, I had the help of others: Emily Young, Allison Key, Trish Killian, Casey Moredock, Carrie Shope, and Angelia Dickey. We had the shower at my mom's house, it was just the perfect set up for the party. Also, all sweet treats were made with love by KTown Treats and our dear friend, Teagan Rozmus.

Saturday was a blast! We ate good food, we opened lots of presents, we had good conversation, we made onesies with iron-ons! We just had a good time...and while we were cleaning up we even heard labor and delivery horror stories, and talked about things that made me mildly uncomfortable which I won't even think of mentioning here.

Then, we came home and put the nursery together!

I've posted some pictures here, but to see all of them visit: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2016206&id=67001274&l=6383b52687

My sister, Emily, and I made these letters. They work as great decoration...and they will be hung over Juliet's crib!
Tara and me with the toy box that I made for the baby. I plan to paint it and put a big pink "J" on it!
The party hostesses (minus Angelia). Left -to-right, top row: Allison, Emily. Left-to-right, bottom row: Trish (mom), Casey, Tara, me, Carrie.
I love cupcakes and I love a hydrangea...so you get this picture. Teagan made these precious cupcakes! They were delicious, too!
Some of the loot...yes, that's right...just "some" of it!
Hope you enjoy the pictures! Check out the album on facebook if you want more!

It's hard to believe she'll be here any day now!!!

Julet's First Baby Shower...Snow Delay

So, Juliet's first Baby Shower was the first weekend in March on the 1st, before I even started this blog and I have never blogged about it! For the sake of documenting everything, I choose to blog about it now!

Tara, Carrie, and I headed down to Tullahoma (where Tara's parents and brother live) for a shower thrown by some of Mrs. Smith's friends. Well, the snow came in , and aforementioned shower throwers decided to cancel it. Needless to say, this was upsetting for Tara and all of us. But, better safe than sorry.

Well, since we had some gifts there from me, other family members, and a few that were shipped in, we decided to put on comfy clothes and have a no-nonsense shower anyway! Besides, Aunt Pier and Tara's grandmother came in!

This is the snow that scared everyone away:

Here is Mommy-to-Be with a table full of baby gifts!
Tara and her Mother with a gift shipped in from Miss Pam's best friend.
And this precious little outfit is from Tara's grandmother. I know that her eyes are closed, but this is what Juliet will wear home from the hospital. So, I decided to post it anyway!
